National Care Leavers Week 2022

20 October 2022

National Care Leaver's Week is an opportunity to celebrate the successes of care leavers from across the UK, and to inspire them to achieve their full potential. It's also an opportunity to challenge negative perceptions and change the narrative of the care system.

Care experienced young people have the right to access information, advice in an accessible way, have their voice heard and understand the rights, entitlements and services available to them. Not all care leavers unfortunately are always aware of what is available to them, with a lack of understanding about finances, budgeting and health services.

This National Care Leavers Week we will be celebrating the amazing young people we work with through the Care Leavers App, we will also be working to raise awareness of what is available to young people.

National Care Leavers Week 2022 will see the introduction of our 'In Conversation' series, with guests from:

  • Nottinghamshire County Council
  • Greater Manchester Combined Authority
  • Hull Council

The series will discuss how individuals and organisations work with young people to improve their offering and how they use digital to support their care leavers and more!

Every Care Leavers App is tailor made to fit the needs of the young people that will use it, with the aim of helping young people in the transition to independence and adulthood. Every app is co-produced ensuring it is not a corporate tool but something that Care Leavers can identify with, containing the information, advice, opportunities and events they want to see.

Come back to our website or keep an eye on our social media next week to watch our new series.
