We were pleased to see the announcement from the National Leaving Care Benchmarking Forum that National Care Leavers Week, usually held during the last week of October, has evolved into National Care Leavers Month, and will be celebrated throughout Novermber 2025.

National Care Leavers Week has been a great time for local authorities to launch new Apps for their care experienced young people - but we have sometimes found a week is not enough time to help plan and attend as many launches as we would like to. Travelling, presenting, meeting the young people and leaving care teams - it all goes in a flash and suddenly the week has gone.

As NCLBF say, a month will give more time for highlighting the experiences successes and ongoing needs of care experienced individuals across the country.

We'll kick things off early with a hashtag! Lets go #NCLM #NCLM25.
